Battuvshin received his MD degree in human medicine from Health Sciences University, Mongolia in 2005. He then completed his Ph.D. in medical sciences (neuroscience) at Kyushu University, Japan in 2013. His thesis focused on the sympathetic premotor neurons driving thermogenesis in response to psychological stress. Battuvshin joined the El Ouaamari Lab in October 2017 and is currently working on the structural and functional neuroanatomy of the pancreas.
