Why Join Us?
Our group employs a multidisciplinary approach to explore how cells and organs communicate with each other to maintain glucose homeostasis.
We primarily study how long-distanced organs influence the biology of islet insulin-producing β cells and how these interactions are perturbed in metabolically diseased states such as insulin resistance and diabetes in mouse and human models.
Ultimately, we want to identify the elements mediating the inter-organ metabolic communication and harness their biology to devise new ways to prevent, delay, or even reverse diabetes.
We believe these studies are exciting because they bring together various disciplines and therefore have a high likelihood of success—We want you to be part of it!
